Last week, we hosted our very first SPORTAMii Adventure Mix & Mingle at the MEC store in Vancouver, and honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better evening.
We welcomed 150 people, all there for one simple reason: to make new friends who also love getting outside. From the moment people arrived, conversations started flowing. It was incredible to see such a diverse mix of people in one room, those who had just moved to Vancouver looking to build a community, locals who had lived here for years, couples wanting to meet other outdoorsy people, and plenty who came on their own. No matter their story, everyone had one thing in common: a love for the outdoors and a willingness to connect.
The evening was packed with bingo, conversation starters, giveaways, and plenty of opportunities to meet new people. Everyone really embraced the event, and it felt like the first real-life version of what SPORTAMii is all about, bringing like minded people together to build genuine friendships through a shared love of the outdoors.
The event sold out so quickly that we knew we were onto something special.
A huge thank you to MEC Vancouver for hosting us. Their space was the perfect venue, and guests loved being able to enjoy exclusive discounts after the event. Throughout the evening, the MEC team also hosted optional talks and demos, including an introduction to bikepacking covering essential gear, local routes, and practical tips for anyone wanting to give it a go. Their knowledge and passion for the outdoors added so much to the experience.
The best part of the night wasn't the games or the giveaways, it was seeing so many new friendships begin. People make plans for future hikes, and leave with new connections reminded us exactly why we created SPORTAMii.
This is just the beginning. We'll be hosting many more Adventure Mix & Mingles and outdoor community events in the months ahead, and we can't wait to see even more of you there.
